SEDEX 31- Some say it’s the best so far.

By Joyce Shamini, CV.

Tronoh, 21st August 2013- Themed, “Portal to the Future”, the 31st installation of Science and Engineering Design Exhibition (SEDEX 31) became the highlight of the near end of last semester as always. This time, the categories included for exhibit were Final Year Project (FYP), Engineering Team Project (ETP), Post Graduate (PG), Open Innovation Challenge (OIC), and Young Inventors Category (YIC).

Notable winners of SEDEX 31 were the Magic Wrap inventors from SK Tarcisian Convent which snagged the People Choice Award, Project Director's Choice Award titled “Wellbore Plastering during Casing while Drilling Prediction” by Chew Jay Sern with Dr William Pao King Soon as supervisor and the Most Innovative Award which went to a group of OIC participants supervised by Prof. Dr. Noorhana Binti Yahya with their groundbreaking “Spider like Air-wave Dispersion Antenna” concept.

Apart from being touted as one of the few SEDEX events in its series of having the most interesting projects on display this time, the presence of PETROBOTS UTP showcasing their robots was also one of the attention grabber of last semester’s SEDEX 31. HOT congratulates the Project Director, Kanagesh Manoharan and his team for a job well done and look forward to seeing how this semester’s SEDEX would fare.
