December - UTP Bhangra Dance Off (BDO) 2015 is Malaysia’s first Bhangra competition
organized by UTP. This competition was organised to provide a platform for
students to showcase their talent and passion in Bhangra and helped to create a
strong bond among participants. The Project Director of Bhangra Dance Off 2015,
Mr. Gurveen Singh Reekhi shared that this event was participated by 4 teams comprising of Gajjdi Jawani from UTP and also teams from countries like Singapore and United
Kingdom. The special guest of this event was YB Keshvinder Singh S/O Kashmir
Singh, Head of Department, Non Islamic Affairs, Perak State Government. Sadi Wakhri Ah Taur (SWAT) team from Singapore emerged as the champion of the night and returned home with cash prize worth RM 3000, certificates and trophies. Not to forget our very own UTP
Bhangra team, Gajjdi Jawani managed to grab third place and made UTP proud. All in all,
Bhangra Dance Off 2015 was a resounding success and our heartiest
congratulations to the organising team and the participants.
