Seminar Room, 2nd June 2015 - Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Week UTP 2015 is an annual event that instil the importance of health, safety and environment (HSE) among the students of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). This year the event is organised by the HSE Department of UTP and co-presented by the Residential College Support Unit (RCSU) of UTP. The HSE Week was inaugurated by the renowned Malaysian astronaut Dato’ Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor who shared his experience throughout his journey to the International Space Station (ISS) and the health and safety measures that has been undergone to ensure the safe travel to the space and earth. This inauguration ceremony gave the students an opportunity to meet him and know more about the space exploration as well as the importance of applying HSE in different aspects of life especially in occupation to prevent occupational hazards. Moreover, this event also gave the chance to students to develop their knowledge in HSE because of the exhibition which has been conducted by the HSE organizations in Malaysia. For example, Rentokil, Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research, Department of Occupational Health and Safety of Perak and UTP Security Service. The future events like HSE Disaster Modelling competition, Futsal Tournament, triathlon, HSE UTP Roadshow and many more will be conducted soon.
