Petroleum Geologists Grand Gala Dinner - AAPG-UTP-SC GGD

Dinner 2015, an event organised by the American Association of Petroleum
Geologists of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Student Chapter (AAPG-UTP-SC) to promote
AAPG-UTP-SC to students who pursue their studies in the field of Petroleum Geoscience
(PGs). This dinner also act as a kickoff to promote Geoscience Exhibition and
Competition (GEnC) and Calorie Run, two main events organised by AAPG besides
giving recognition to the top achievers (Dean’s List) of Petroleum Geoscience students.
The winners of Mini Oil Rig Competition, Phillip Goh, Sheba, Sarah Lim and the Murphy
Geoquiz Competition, Lee Ming Xiang, Kew Jiang Sheng and Chaim Cheah Jun were
also awarded for grabbing second place in both competitions. Moving on to the
performances, the audience witnessed spectacular performances by the Caklempong
group, Myanmar dance group and UTP official band – Virtuoso. Congratulations to
all Dean’s list students for their great achievement and students for winning
the competitions. Hope that this dinner will be a motivation for them to keep
up their good results till they graduate.
